The baby goats were a wee but chilly after the shearing so we sweatered them up! We did the same thing with the nanny goats last year when we had to shear late.
Susan! They're so cute! No wonder you take care so well of your animals. They're so giving and full of love. I wish I could live on a farm too but my 2 dogs give me unconditional love too. Keep up the good work! Marguerite from Montreal
Colby, you give me waaay to much credit. We went to the Island thrift store and bought them out of wool sweaters on half price clothing day. ($34 for about 20 sweaters, in case you are wondering.) Then we cut the sleeves off them and cut little holes for the legs. Maybe next year I'll knit them...
I totally thought you knit the sweaters too. How cool would that be ... they get to wear sweaters made from their own fleece. :-) Guess that's not very economical tho'.
When I put your blog and these photos on my computer at my job this afternoon, all work stopped in the studio - for about 20 minutes - as everyone was "ooohing and ahhhhhing".
OH NO!! Don't tell my mom you put sweaters on the babies! She'll HAVE to start knitting! She knit sweaters for PENGUINS after an oil spill once upon reading an article. I really don't want to have to discuss with the proper measurements for goats, I'm still scared by the penguin episode!!
There is a children's book - "Farmer Brown Shears his Sheep" that tells of sheep wanting their fleece back because they are cold. The farmer ends up knitting them all sweaters. It is really fun.
Had no idea that this occured in real life! So cute!

My comment How cute is that!!!!
Dear husband's comment: Seems like an awful lot of work just to put the fiber back on the goat / sheep.
I love him!
Thanks for sharing!
They are so cute!!! Okay, I have to know. Did you knit the sweaters and were they knit from your own yarn?
