Unbearable

Biscotti, my beautiful, sweet Maremma, was hit by a car this morning. She died instantly.
I don't have language for this kind of pain.

I am so, so, so sorry. I had to put my beloved dog Sam down a few years ago and it still hurts like crazy to think about it. I found solace in remembering the good times and funny stories with Sam and spending as much time as possible around the people I love. I wish you all the best.

I just lost my sweet and beautiful dog Temmoku a couple of weeks ago quite suddenly. I understand how no words can express the pain. I'm so sad for you loss. The good times we shared in the 10 1/2 years we had together is both soothing and hurt me. Although, as the days go by, the hurt is lessening a bit. I wish the same for you.

Susan,
This is only the second time I have read your blog after my sister forwarded me the link. My husband and I live in Kentucky and have a flock of 25 sheep, and my best friend grazes her commercial flock on our farm. This morning I decided to look at your blog, and my heart just broke when I read you had lost a dog just this morning. We have three working Great Pyrenees and over the past eight years have lost two others, one a Maremma,to a car. You are right-there are no words, just a horrible, horrible pain. They are such amazing, majestic animals, and I can only offer you my deepest sympathy. Meaningless words, I know, but as I looked through your photos of all the gorgeous lambs and kids, I am reminded of the cycle of life that we are super-exposed to on the farm. I know that the amount of sorrow you are feeling is equal to the amount of joy Bixcotti brought you.

Oh, Susan, I am so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is like losing a family member. Your dogs were so great when we visited - so attentive with the sheep and goats! I am sure that Fettucini will be lost for awhile without Biscotti, but perhaps you can find comfort in each other. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

There are no words I can say to ease your pain. When we lost our last pet, I received a card with The Rainbow Bridge poem. www.rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm
I was not able to finish it for many months but now when I read it I can remember Michael with the pain in my heart but also with the joy he brought us. You and yours are in my prayers and I hope when you are able to read this poem it will bring you a small measure of comfort.

Sometimes you just gotta cry!

Please do let us know if there is anything at all we can do! I'm sure I am not the only one who would jump in a car (train, bus, airplane) and help in any way I am able!

Cant express how sorry I feel about the loss of your dog. It's easy to say remember the good times, but hard to do at times like this. Our dog is sometimes the best part of us, I heard somewhere "make me the good person my dog thinks I am".The lost ones are always in our hearts.
